Alissa
Alissa has been a student of movement since taking dance from a young age. Originally from Idaho she moved to Seattle to study dance at Cornish College of the Arts where she holds a BFA in dance. There she was introduced to pilates by her modern teacher. She started practicing Pilates from then on and fell in love with the technicality and idea of injury prevention through attention to alignment. She then got certified in Pilates completing her 450 hours all levels of Pilates instruction certification from Vitality Pilates teacher training program. Body awareness and restoration are the core of Alissa's Pilates philosophy.
Alissa believes aligning the mind and body allows for the most healing movement. She focuses on breath initiating movement from a deeper level and letting the natural fluidity of the body take over. Her sessions entail grounding clients into their bodies, allowing for deep transformation to take place. Alissa uses her background in dance and deep knowledge of the body to guide clients through their practice safely and effectively. Through hands on touch, deep core strengthening and stretch and release work, Alissa's sessions relaxes the nervous system while simultaneously strengthening the body.
