Jackie Oliva

Jackie Oliva began her Pilates training at the age of sixteen as a dance student in Northern California. She quickly began to understand the impact that Pilates had on her body. She was diagnosed very young with scoliosis of the upper and lower spine which caused severe pain in daily life and as a dancer. Pilates enabled her to develop strong core muscles that would eventually alleviate the pain and begin to correct her spine. After high school Jackie moved to Southern California to study dance at California State University Long Beach and California State University Fullerton. She then danced professionally at the Disneyland Resort in seven different parades and stage shows for four and a half years. During this time she also traveled to the east coast as a choreographer for Six Flags, staging and teaching hundreds of dancers in New England and New Jersey. Her choreographic works can also be seen with Backhausdance and L.A. Unbound. She then continued her Pilates training with Karen Clippinger at Body Arts and Science International with a dance specialization where she received her full comprehensive certification. She has a passion for working with all ages and backgrounds, and hopes to spread the joy of Pilates’ undeniable positive effect on the body and mind.
