Amie Baca, LMP (Studio Owner) has been dancing for most of her life, practicing Pilates for over ten years, and has been a Licensed Massage Practitioner since 2005. These passions have brought Ms. Baca an acute awareness of the human form and its functions and she is honored to share her experience with her clientele.
Originally from Redlands, CA, Ms. Baca moved to Seattle to study at Cornish College of the Arts where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Art in Dance. She was a member of The Pat Graney Co., a member of d9 Dance Collective, and an original member of The Heavenly Spies Cabaret. Ms. Baca taught jazz throughout Seattle at local studios and at Cornish in the college and preparatory programs. She has worked with many local and national choreographers and has performed throughout the Seattle area and beyond.
Through her continued ambition to become a stronger and smarter dancer Ms. Baca began to study the Pilates Method with Cary Regan in 1997. She became a Certified Pilates Instructor through Balance Within Pilates Studio, under the directorship of Gail Andersen in 2000 and remained a member of the staff there for over three years. While at Balance Within, Ms. Baca became an integral part of the Instructor Certification Program, assisting in and teaching various training workshops.
Always in pursuit of knowledge and in order to enhance her Pilates practice, Ms. Baca enrolled in the Brian Utting School of Massage where she earned her degree in massage therapy.
She started Pilates on 10th in 2003 in a small studio one block from the current location. Pilates on 10th has been running in its expanded space since 2008.
See her perform this December 9-11th with choreographer Shirley Jenkins in Dance Jenkins Dance!
